In a poor neighborhood, a young woman lives with her mother and gets married to a poor man. Unhappy with her low social class, she decides to leave her mother and husband to travel to Turkey where she gets acquaint with a rich man. He helps her to make her way into the upper class and become a wealthy and famous singer. After returning to Egypt, she asks for a divorce, yet her husband refuses and decides to discipline her.
